Jet2 reports ‘truly phenomenal’ response to Bournemouth launch

One month after announcing the launch of flights and holidays from Bournemouth, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have reported a “truly phenomenal” response.

The sister brands said customers and travel agents were booking flights and holidays for 2025 “in their droves”.

Sales opened on March 26 for 16 destinations across Europe, the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean for next summer, in response to “years of demand” from customers and agents in Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth and the wider south of England region.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said they have since seen strong and sustained demand with thousands flights and holidays booked from the new UK airport base.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We know that customers and independent travel agents had been waiting keenly for us to make this move, and the reaction to the launch has reflected this.

“From day one, and over the last four weeks, the response to our award-winning flights and holidays going on sale from Bournemouth airport has been truly phenomenal, and we are delighted at how well the launch has been received.

Jet2 boss sees ‘a lot of potential’ in Bournemouth airport

“Since launching one month ago today, we saw an immediate surge in bookings from Bournemouth airport, and that demand shows no sign of slowing down.”

The top five performing destinations from Bournemouth are Antalya, Tenerife, Dalaman, Majorca and Rhodes, with the companies reporting strong sales to all 16 summer destinations.

In their first summer of operations from Bournemouth, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate up to 27 weekly flights, including multiple weekly flights to popular destinations across the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey and Greece as well as services to mainland Spain, Portugal and Madeira.

Two destinations – Fuerteventura and Madeira – are exclusive from Bournemouth airport.

The inaugural flight from the airport will depart to Tenerife on April 1, 2025.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ arrival at Bournemouth airport has also resulted in more than 100 new jobs being created initially, with positions available across flight deck, cabin crew, engineering and ground operations.
