Park Resorts reveals £25 million refurbishment plans for 2016

UK holiday park operator Park Resorts will open during February half-term for the first time next year as the firm looks to invest more than £25 million overall in its product during 2016.

Of this, £5.5 million is being spent on major entertainment complex and restaurant upgrades at six of the brand’s 49 parks in anticipation of the summer holiday season.

Sandy Bay in Ashington, Northumberland; Coopers Beach in Mersea Island, Essex; and Regent Bay in Morecambe, will all see new ‘show bars’ added and new Boathouse Bar and Restaurant venues will be opened at the White Cross Bay park in Cumbria and Summerfields in Great Yarmouth.

Manor Park in Hunstanton, Norfolk, will benefit from a new indoor swimming pool.

A total of 10 resorts, including Bideford Bay in Devon and Camber Sands in East Sussex, will open for February half-term next year with the company promising “full entertainment for both adults and children”.

There will also be more accommodation for Park Resorts clients to choose from next year, with new luxury lodges, self-catering caravans and ‘glamping villages’ added.

Park Resorts’ entertainment offering in 2016 will include X Factor stars Stevie Ritchie and Sam Bailey, Andy Whyment from Coronation Street and Bobby Davro.
